To process and deposit a credit card transaction one must open a merchant account. All transactions are daily deposited, with no fee, into the owner's bank account.
In some cases the customer may want their dealer to provide the processing as part of their service agreement or perhaps their company would not allow the setup of local merchant accounts. In this case the dealer can setup the merchant account for them in the dealer's name and charge a 15-25% monthly processing fee for the copier transactions.
The dealer might sell or lease the copier and CPI to the customer. The above fees can be then added to the service agreement.
Another way is the dealer can provide the copier, CPI system and service and give the customer 15-25% commission on copy sales. ( keeping the initial 75-85% )
Either way, the dealer will continue to generate a monthly income from that location.
Each deal is different and depends on the factors in play. Having the CPI system as a leverage tool gives the dealer the upper hand and increases the odds in closing that sale. That's what the CPI system is all about !
